Non-discrimination Policy

No person shall, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to unlawful discrimination under any program or activity receiving or benefiting from federal financial assistance and administered by Child and Family Connections.

Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

Child and Family Connections assures each applicant and employee Equal Employment Opportunity without regard to age, race, color, sex, religion, national origin, political opinions or affiliations, marital status, or disability, except when such requirement constitutes a bona-fide occupational qualification necessary to perform the tasks associated with the position.  Equal Employment Opportunity is attained using both objective and subjective merit principles and applies to recruitment, examination, appointment, training, promotion, demotion, compensation, retention, discipline, separation, and other employment practices within Child and Family Connections.

Any applicant or employee who believes that he or she has been discriminated against may file a complaint with the Florida Commission on Human Relations or the Department’s Office of Civil Rights, within 365 days of the alleged discriminatory act.  All complaints shall be treated in accordance with the procedures set forth by law or in Chapter 60Y-5, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.)

Non-retaliation Policy

No person shall be retaliated against, harassed, intimidated, threatened, coerced or discriminated against for making a charge, testifying, assisting or participating in any manner in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing; or for opposing alleged unlawful discriminatory practices prohibited by state and  federal laws.
