Legislative Update! Governor Bush signed the Rilya Wilson Act, SB 1318 into law on July 16, 2003. This legislative act requires information sharing between the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or Community-Based Care (CBC) agencies and providers of licensed early education or child care programs, in regard to children age three to school entry who are at-risk of abuse or neglect. Additionally, this legislation provides a priority for participation in licensed early education or child care programs by at-risk children age 3 to school entry.
